• Wuthering Heights Movie Fails to Impress

Ed Westwick decided against starring in a Wuthering Heights movie after realising it was “sh*t”.

Last year, it was reported the Gossip Girl star was to portray brooding hero Heathcliff in a Hollywood version based on the novel by Emily Brontë. Gemma Arterton was linked to the role of Heathcliff’s love interest Cathy, but Ed has now revealed he has pulled out.

“I was going to do it, but it turned out to be a bit of a sh*t project so I stepped away,” he told Company magazine.

The star added there are plenty of other roles he is looking towards at the moment. He would love to play iconic spy James Bond if it was ever offered to him, and has also been enthralled by the success of the Twilight series of films.

“They’re incredibly successful, but that’s Robert Pattinson’s thing and I’m blessed to have the success I’ve had,” he explained. “That said, I would love to work with Rob.”

• Ed Says Romance with Jessica Isn’t Serious

Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick may have been recently caught canoodling with his co-star Jessica Szohr, but he doesn’t seem to think they are a serious item.

According to the New York Post, the 23-year-old actor and Szohr, 25, were recently seen cosying up together at the Old Homestead Steakhouse, in New York, but Westwick has said he is still too young to think about getting serious.

He said to UK magazine Company: ‘All I’m going to say is that I’m 23, so how involved are you going to be with somebody when you’re 23?’

And he added that he won’t be getting married for a very long time.

Westwick also shared his feelings about co-star Chace Crawford and revealed that the pair shared some wild times when they used to share a flat together.

He said: ‘Chace is like a brother to me. I had to laugh about the rumour that we were in a relationship.

‘If only people knew what went on in that flat – truly debauched affairs – I’m telling you.’

Ed Westwick “couldn’t be bothered” to cheat on someone he was romantically involved with.

The actor plays flamboyant Chuck Bass in American series Gossip Girl, and has an on/off relationship with his co-star Jessica Szohr. Although the star prefers not to discuss his personal life, he insists he is a good boyfriend who always puts his partner first.

“I probably tried to be a player when I was younger, chasing women, but now I’m too busy,” he said. “I’m pretty loyal, to friends and girlfriends. I think if you respect and care about someone, you have to be faithful. Plus, it takes too much time and hard work to play around. I can’t be bothered.”

Ed is relaxed about rumours which surface about him, and knows his private life is always going to be the subject of gossip. He used to live with his co-star Chace Crawford, and was delighted when he read some supposed titbits about their homelife.

“Chace is like a brother to me so I had to laugh about the rumour that we were in a relationship,” he explained to Company magazine. “If only people knew what went on in that apartment. Truly debauched affairs, I’m telling you.”

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actor – who is dating co-star Jessica Szohr – thinks the best think about being in a relationship is spending quality time at home with his girlfriend.

He said: “The best thing about relationships? Cuddling on the couch and eating food in bed, crumbs can come into the bed too, they’re fine.”
